Brings a passion for continuous improvement, courageous leadership, developing teams, and delivering results. Recognized with the 2021 Robert M. Stuart Award.
This award is named for the founding chairman of the Board of the Directors of the National Minority Purchasing Council [later renamed the National Minority Supplier Development Council], and is presented to a leader who has invested their time, energy and passion to advancing opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises in Corporate America. This individual is recognized for their life's work, overwhelming support and generosity that elevates the entire NMSDC network. Received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Management Science in 1986 and Master’s in Economics in 1989 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Vice President, Supplier Diversity & Supply Chain Sustainability - Reporting to Chief Procurement Officer with close coordination with Chief Diversity Officer and executive leadership team, served as the face of Johnson Controls’ supplier diversity initiative - leading diverse procurement strategies for more than 300 diverse suppliers, external reporting to more than 120 customers, external relations with more than 17 NGOs, and sales proposal support for a 2000+ person sales team.
Implemented strategies to purchase more than $22 B in goods and services from diverse businesses certified by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women's Enterprise National Council (WBENC) by:
- Facilitating three minority-controlled joint ventures
- Facilitating 13 minority-controlled strategic/contractual alliances- Re-sourcing non-prime suppliers to NMSDC/WBENC-certified diverse suppliers
- Divesting non-core operations to NMSDC/WBENC-certified diverse suppliers
- Converting second-tier diverse firms to first-tier diverse suppliers
- Converting public sector diverse firms to NMSDC/WBENC-certified diverse suppliersWorked with executive leadership team to develop value proposition and core content for external and internal audiences.
Built cloud-based supplier diversity toolkit for sales, procurement, and leadership teams and led global integrated rollout.
Developed programs to increase diverse supplier capability via diverse executive education, multi- corporation capacity building, targeted sourcing, and technology implementation for more than 300 diverse firms.
Taught course on developing minority-led joint ventures and strategic alliances for Dartmouth’s Minority Executive Program at Tuck each year since 1998.
Developed and implemented three cloud-based diverse supplier registration, spend tracking and reporting systems.
Developed and implemented internal global supplier diversity portal that provided diverse spend performance analytics, on-demand supplier diversity video training, and a diverse supplier search and retrieval engine of active and approved diverse suppliers.
Led global reporting initiatives for conflict minerals, carbon disclosure; and supply chain sustainability for company covering more than 10,000 supplier participants.
